{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }
I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL
- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIR
"Daddy, you promised you'd take me to Diagon Alley today." Fifteen year old Trista Watkins said as she sat down at the table, across from her father who was currently more interested in what was in the newspaper than what was coming out of his redheaded child's mouth. "Daddy?" She asked expectantly, noting how her Dad sighed before lowering the paper from his face. He asked her why she needed to go to town this particular day "I want to get a book for school." Was her honest reply, to which he asked why she wanted to get a school book so early in the summer holiday "So I can start studying some of the spells I'm going to be learning this year." Trista told him, still being totally honest with her Father. She knew that in order to get him to take where she wanted to go, she needed to be honest. Lying certainly wasn't the way to go. Her Dad told her to get ready, and to let him finish reading his paper, then he would take her to get her precious book.
With a smile and a quick peck on her dad's cheek, Trista all but ran back to her room to put on her clothes and fix her hair. After having slipped into her pink and white, knee-length dress Trista threw on some white sandals before pulling her hair half up and letting it fall straight at the ends. At the back of her head she fixed a small pink hair bow just above the elastic holding her half up do style. Grabbing her bag from bedside her bed, and throwing her wand inside it (along with some wizarding money) Trista left her room, closing her door behind her as she went. Heading towards the room that her Dad shared with Cara (her step-mother) Trista knocked on the door, hearing a faint "It's open." Not very long after. Pushing their bedroom door open she saw her dad sitting on his bed while Cara, apparently, was in the closet and probably getting ready to work the next few hours. Looking at her Dad she asked “Are you ready to go?” Trista asked, he just nodded before telling Cara that he was taking Trista into town. Since her Dad was a muggle, they wouldn’t be using floo-powder and he wouldn’t be able to disapparate...they would be going in his car. The drive seemed to fly by fast, conversation with her Dad never ceased once. The two always found something to talk about.
Once they arrived, Trista was told that she would be allowed to go by herself, since she was almost fifteen, and that he'd wait for her in what he called 'normal' London. That was one instant where she was so glad she had decided against telling her parents, and step-mother, about what was going on in the wizarding world. They would have pulled her away quickly, that was for sure. She kissed him goodbye and headed towards the Leaky Cauldron, only pausing when he told her that she was going to her Mum's that night. The back and forth was killing her, but Trista loved both of her parents and wanted to spend as much time together as she could. Telling Tom "Hello." as she walked through, Trista went to the Alley behind the shop and tapped the correct bricks with her wand, standing back as the brick wall opened to reveal the world she had been longing to be back in since she had left it. Making her way through the crowd of Diagon Alley, all of whom seemed to be in a state of worry, and was not surprised at how most people stuck together. She knew it probably wasn't safe to be going around on her own , but she wouldn’t have wanted to bring her family into this anyway. She reached Flourish and Blotts, and tried weaving her way through the people in the bookshop.
