It was Georgina's first Halloween at Hogwarts and her costume was... well, it was crap. She didn't know any spells that would allow her to make something really cool or add fancy effects, so she was stuck with something plain and boring. She'd told her parents to send her something scary that she could wear and their response had been to send her some fluffy paws and a head band with cat ears on, and tell her they would look good with the cat-face dress they'd packed in her case before she left for school. Since she really didn't have any other options, she'd had no choice but to go with it and dress as a cat. A cat! Pft! That wasn't scary at all. In fact, she'd never understood why people ever dressed as cats for Halloween. Sure, there was that superstition about black cats and everything, but it seemed the most ridiculous and pointless excuse for a costume to her. And here she was, stuck in that very costume. Thank goodness she hadn't been sent a stupid tail to go with it!
Once her face was painted - about the only part of her costume that actually looked decent - she headed out of the dungeons to see what event the school had in place. It would probably be stupid. Her first stop had been the hall. The party itself would be pathetic since it was a school party, but she wasn't going to pass up the chance of free sweets from Honeydukes. She stuffed some down her boots and some more in her gloves, then left the Hall, sucking on a lolly shaped like a pumpkin. Oh, how creative they were...
Between the choice of a Haunted House and pumpkin carving there was absolutely no doubt where she was going to go. What sort of idiot would want to carve pumpkins? That was probably where all the freaks and mudbloods would be hanging out. No, a Haunted House was much more her style. Georgina strode confidently along the foggy path that took her to the House and looked over the front of it for a few moments, taking in the size of it, before heading straight for the front door.
