Bethany's something of a hero-to-be; at least, that's how she sees herself. When she grew up, she was always protecting her twin sister, and now that she's at Hogwarts, she hasn't given up her love of being a knight in shining armor. She's got a pretty strong sense of right and wrong, though it doesn't always mesh with everyone else's, since she's perfectly willing to break rules and disregard her own safety to help others. She has dreams of being a famous duelist and does best in classes (and clubs) that let her explore just what magic can let her do.
Friends
Bethany is pretty open to being friends with anyone and especially likes being around younger students. She's eager to take kids under her wing and teach them everything she knows about life, which would mostly involve excitement and adventure and getting into and out of trouble. She's also willing to leap into a fight to defend just about anyone, even if the odds are strongly against her. She has something of a temper and can be very sarcastic, but if people can put up with that, then they'll have a friend who's loyal to the end.
In her first year, she took a dare that she could make a friend from each House and have a picnic with them by the lake. She thinks the whole House rivalry thing can be fun, but it could also go a bit too far, and she doesn't want to see people getting into fights just because a hat shouted a word when they were eleven.
Enemies
Because of her penchant for interfering in fights (and possibly starting them), Bethany may well gather some enemies. Some might be the typical schoolyard enemies, where she'll hex them because they called her Beth, but since she's Muggleborn and proud of it, it's possible she'll attract negative attention from blood purists. She'd be willing to put aside fights, but only if the other person makes the first move or she sees a very good reason for not fighting with them any longer.
Just as she's willing to befriend someone from any House, she's also willing to fight with someone from any House. If a Gryffindor does something she disagrees with, she'll speak up about it, no matter the consequences.
Relationships
Bethany is on the fence about accepting her bisexuality. On the one hand, she doesn't want to be ashamed of any part of herself, but on the other, this is something that would have repercussions for her no matter where she goes, in the wizard or Muggle world, and she only recently learned that it doesn't have to mean she's wrong somehow for falling in love with both men and women. That said, if she has a girlfriend, she would be just as giddy and have just as many PDAs as she would with a boy.
Bethany hasn't really been looking for a relationship, but she would be most interested in someone who's also something of a hero. Being a troublemaker is all right, as long as there's no malice behind the trouble. Most of all, she'd want someone who could keep up with her excitement, not mind her temper, and be trustworthy enough that she could share her poems.
