Dominique is very beautiful, however she's constantly being told that she doesn't live up to the beauty of her older sister. Both her sister and her brother got their mother's blond hair, where as Dominique's is brown, a lot like her father's, and since he's the family member she likes the least, it's not something she's happy with. Despite having the ability to transfigure her hair blonder, she doesn't. She hates that people might think that she's trying to be more like her sister, because she's actually grown to hate her, and wants to be as different from her as possible.
Because of all the comparisons, Dominique finds herself trying to alter herself even while in her head she's telling herself that she doesn't want to be 'perfect' like her sister. There have been times when she's starved herself or made herself sick, because she feels like she's fatter than those around her and she needs to prove something. As much as she argues, the appearances of those around her greatly effect the way she sees herself.
When she can, Dominique will be wearing something quite revealing with a killer pair of heels to boot, because that's the image she wants to portray. She wants to look like your typical badass pureblood Slytherin, and doesn't want people to question her confidence at all. Truthfully, Dominique would much rather slip into a comfy pair of shoes and be on her way.

Dominique is a Pureblood, but she considers herself to be the outsider of the family. She was born on August 29th, so she's the youngest in the year and it's not something she's particularly happy about, and she's never liked it, so she's spent a lot of time lying to people and telling them that her birthday is the 15th of February.
Dominique thinks too much. It's really that simple. Her mind is constantly racing and taking even the simplest of things and blowing it way out of proportion. Because of this, she finds herself viewing perfectly ordinary things in a very different way to how most people view them. Even her idea of what she considers a friend is now altered. She rarely considers anyone a friend, merely an acquaintance, because they don't match what she's come to believe a friend is. This has also led her to question practically everything her pureblood family have ever told her, and she doesn't agree with most of what she's been raised to believe.
Despite all the over-thinking, and all the different opinions she has, she still forces herself to do things because they're the image she wants to project. She wants to come across as someone really confident and assertive, and she wants people to see someone who lives up to her family's pureblood expectations, and who will speak her mind. Beneath that, she doesn't really feel like any of those things. She has too many secrets and too many uncertainties, most of them her own creation.
When it comes to romance, Dominique will do what she has to with any guy who passes, because that's part of the reputation she wants to uphold. However, considering how unacceptable the idea of being bisexual and perhaps liking both genders would be, she'll do anything to hide that side of her. That usually means hiding behind the mask of a bitch.
Dominique's overactive mind has led her to reconsider what she considers a like and a dislike these days, because now she thinks that splitting things so easily into two categories is viewing the world as if it's black and white, and not considering all the shades of grey in between. While she will admit, she does like photographs, bubbles, muggle lights, and the forest, she doesn't like to say anything because it sounds so closed minded. She considers a black and white view of the world to be looking at the world through a child's eyes.
When Dominique finally mastered how to make a corporeal patronus it too the form of a lynx, and since then Dominique has struggled to find a memory strong enough to recreate another. Her over-thinking saps the life out of everything. She considers it a blessing and a curse, depending on the situation.

Dominique is the youngest of three children born to pureblood parents. One of the few things she's done right by their books is be sorted into Slytherin, the rest of what she does? Well, it's not really anything that they'd approve of. They accept her behavior, but that's because they don't know the truth that's concealed beneath it.
Her older brother, Sebastian, has always been a thrill seeker, always got into trouble, and always sleeping with someone different every night, because that's the thrill of things for him. If there's anyone Dominique has felt able to talk to over the years, it's him, but now she doesn't even feel comfortable with that because he's so involved with the new Death Eater activity that's going on. Dominique hasn't been able to speak properly to her sister since she was twelve because that's when all the comparisons between the two of them reached their worst point. Gabriella tends to snub out her sister, and flaunts the fact that people consider her the better looking of the two when Dominique is around. Their relationship was shattered a long time ago.
Similarly, her parents always preferred their beautiful, blond haired 'do no wrong' daughter, pushing Dominique further and further away. Even when she was a child she always found herself thinking too much and reconsidering what things really mean. When she was nine she thought so much that calling her parents 'mum' and 'dad' sounded wrong - the words sounded foreign on her lips. Since then she's done everything she can not to call them anything. For years there was only Sebastian she could talk to, and now she doesn't even have that.
If there's one thing that Dominique doesn't want, it's to return home for the holidays. There have been many times she's considered hiding in the bathroom at Hogsmeade Station, waiting till the train has left, then just disappearing for a month or two. Travelling or something. Anything so long as it meant she didn't have to go home. She'd once gone as far as packing a magical tent to school with her so she could do that, but a letter near the end of term telling her that her grandmother was ill and dying foiled her plans, and she returned home.
Childhood:
Her childhood was a typical pureblood upbringing, with social events and parents trying to enforce their views onto their children. They were limited in what they could do and it seemed the only real option was to believe what they were told - it as all they knew. Even from that age Dominique loved spending time on beaches and near water, but, following her parents desires, she hated all things muggle.
First Year:
During her first year the freedom of not being constantly hounded by her parents was unlike anything she'd ever felt before. She started to question everything she more she learnt. She saw muggle borns that were just as normal and magically capable, and she began to wonder whether the things her parents insisted on were wrong. She kept the thoughts to her head and continued to live in her sisters shadow, being known around the common room as 'Gabby's little sister'.
Second Year:
In second year, Dominique became even more resolute in her beliefs that the things her parents had raised her to believe were wrong, and it started to tear her apart inside. Her attitude really started to come out to play and her rebellious streak started. She was growing more and more distant from her sister the more the older girl continued to outshine her in everyone's eyes.
Third Year:
In third year Dominique started struggling with her own self image, and a bit cause of that was her sister. She started wearing loads of make up and dressing older than her age, and it was in the middle of her third year that she started making herself sick in order to lose weight, constantly and silently comparing herself to the girls around her.
Forth Year:
In forth year, Dominique's self battles started getting out of control. She was at war against herself and was living behind a constant mask of fakery. She wasn't 'real' and could never be herself around anyone. She spent a lot of time outside on her own, but when she had to be around people the bitch in her came out in full throttle.
It was during her forth year that she slept with her first boy, and also, somehow, ended up making out with a girl. Now, she had more reason to despise herself, because how could anyone like doing something with the same sex? It was wrong, and it didn't take her parent's forced beliefs to make her realize that. Liking both boys and girls was a side of herself that she couldn't stand to live with and she began fighting herself even more. It was also in her forth year that she discovered two abandoned kittens in the school, and adopted them as her own.
